Reference: The first edition of this French translation of Rudimentum Novitiorum(Lubeck 1475), entitled Mer Des Histoires, was published in 1488. This is from an early French edition of the second volume published in Paris after the reign of the king Louis XII (1498-1515) and during the reign of Francois le premier (1515-1547) This is from the 1517 edition, the woodcuts are in marvellous condition and this is first French edition from 1517.
Technical: Here we have one of the few almost full page woodcuts of this work, it is on strong laid paper and has text beneath and on the backside.
Subject: A marvellous view of the plundering of a castle.
